On January 28, 1974 the Board of County Commissioners of Whatcom County, Washington issued a resolution that Whatcom County Cemetery District No. 10 was now a duly organized Cemetery District under the laws of the State of Washington.
The returns of the election for the formation of Cemetery District No. 10 were duly canvassed and certified in writing to the Board of Whatcom County Commissioners. It was found 1,857 votes in all were cast with 1,362 being cast in favor of the organization of the Cemetery District and 495 votes being cast against. The vote in favor, being 73.3%, surpassed the two-thirds (2/3) vote requirement for the organization of the Cemetery District as provided by RCW 68.16.090 (recodified as 68.52.090).

PURPOSE
To provide a record of the boundries of District 10To show the position of the city of Lynden within the District
Whatcom County Cemetery District 10 encompasses an area of approximately 62 square miles in the northern part of the county.
Northern boundary: The International boundary line from Delta Line Road on the West to Northwood Road on the East
Eastern boundary: Northwood Road from the International boundary line on the north to a section line on the south dividing Township 40 North and Township 39 North except that the portion of the City of Lynden that extends east beyond Northwood Road is included.
Southern boundary: Harksell Road from Delta Line Road on the west to the Nooksack River on the east following its main course east to Guide Meridian Road and then south to a section line dividing Township 40 North and Township 39 North and then east to Northwood Road.
Western boundary: Delta Line Road from the International boundary line on the north to Harksell Road on the south.
