Perpetual Care

The term "perpetual care" means to be held in perpetual trust, the income of which is to be expended in keeping up forever the care of the cemetery. This care is administered by the use of public funds through the collection of taxes on property within the boundaries of Whatcom County Cemetery District 10. The commissioners of District 10 have the statutory authority to levy property taxes. The funds are used for general maintenance such as mowing, trimming, repair of roads, paths, signage, water & sewer systems, snow clearing, removal of funeral flowers, watering of lawns and shrubbery, and any future planting of trees and shrubbery.
